I kill me

My mind sometimes cracks me up.

Today, while driving home from a trip into town, I had the idle thought of sticking the "Three Es", Erik, Esher and Elric - 3 sword wielding anti-heroes (although Erik would rather use a lasso and Esher's katana is mainly for decoration) - in a room and seeing what happened. Fodder for an amusing bit of fic indeed.

Then while making beds in the chalet this conversation started.
"So, Cymoril, Storm and Christine - why the obsessing?"
Elric - "She's my cousin."
Esher - "She's my daughter."
Erik - "She looks like my mother."
All - "You sick fuck!"

Lucky no-one was around to see my reaction, if I had a mouthful of liquid I woulda spat it everywhere.

Forgive me Lord for I have fallen. Into the world of fandom, fanfiction and sometimes even slashfic. Now, slash intruges me. It seems to be a rather recent phenomenon squeed over by many females but frowned upon by guys. I think it's kinda similar to guys fantasising about girl on girl action, but now it's become acceptible for us females to express similar sentiments and put our favourite male characters into such roles. Personally I find the large majority of slash is just wrong, the large majority of fanfic in general sucks. But I recently read one slashfic that was an absolutely amazing story as well as being titilating. So much so that I gratioutiously wrote and extra chapter for it last night (which I may or may not let interested people read).

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] kittikattie made a good point, which would be one of the key reasons most slash just wants me to dig my eyes out with a spoon and throttle the sicko that wrote it. My reply re: Eyes of the Jackal which had me in tears at the end. Jackal spoilers )

And cuz I now have a paid account and can do it, tell me what you think.

Okay. The character with random disease is a pretty teenage girl. Slim, probably a ballerina or dancer of some kind.

Her family knows and she probably sees a doctor but if she's on any medication she's able to hide it pretty well.

Main person who doesn't know she's sick is boy who falls in love with her.

Yeah I know, the story has been done a squillion times before, but gimme a break I started writing it when I was 14 or so.

Oh yeah, and the death just happens overnight.

Question.

Does anyone know of a disease that would be detectable (i.e. the person who has it knows they have it) but pretty much unnoticeable to anyone else. Also needs to be something that they could die of suddenly.

Anything fit that criteria??
