Okay. The character with random disease is a pretty teenage girl. Slim, probably a ballerina or dancer of some kind.

Her family knows and she probably sees a doctor but if she's on any medication she's able to hide it pretty well.

Main person who doesn't know she's sick is boy who falls in love with her.

Yeah I know, the story has been done a squillion times before, but gimme a break I started writing it when I was 14 or so.

Oh yeah, and the death just happens overnight.

take your pick pretty much.
any of the invisible things, heart, cancer, possibly aids if she's real good with hiding the meds

Can't be an STD. :p

AIDS isnt just an STD, it can be acquired other ways.

Leaukemia perhaps? Josh suggests some neurological dysfunction and following his train of thought i think perhaps a hole in the heart? that one is a bitch. or predisposition to heart murmurs. or something.

Can't be an STD because I don't want anything she can pass on.

Twas thinking some heart problem is a goer. Thing is she's a dancer so it can't be anything too crippling.

AIDS doesn't have to be STD. If it did there wouldn't have been the mass stupidity about blood in sport etc.

Ok well u could use this, it happened to my aunt, she died suddenly during the night, and it took people MONTHS to find out why.
She had sleep acnea (sp?) for awhile but she ALSO had undetected pnuemonia, the docotor (who should be dead) never detected even tho my aunt was in there all the time complaining of certain symptoms (dunno what) so yeah she died during the night, then spent months trying to find out the cause and yeah thats what it was. (Btw her throat closed up during the night causing her to choke and suffocate or something similar, can find out more details if you wanna use that idea)

Hmm...

What about a terminal cancer that the doctors determine they can't treat or operate on? In that case, she wouldn't necessarily be on meds and might not even look ill. She could just go to sleep and never wake up. Think Mandy Moore in "A Walk to Remember".

Or, you could always let her have a brain aneurism in her sleep or something like that.

What about some sort of congenital heart defect?

Yeah I was thinking a heart defect may work.

Maybe you should! Might give you some ideas - if you can stand Mandy Moore's acting anyhow :P.

So, you like to write? I love to write! I'm getting all of my work copy-righted and then I am going to try to get it published. My college professor told me my work is extremely publishable and I have a great talent. So, who knows what I might strike by sending my work into magazines and newspapers! :) If you're good at writing, you should look into submitting it into writing contests. I won one last year through my school. It's a great way to make some fast cash. But I suggest copy-righting your work before sending it out to people.

I used to write back in high school.

I had squillions of novels in my head, but only bits and pieces actually written of any of them.

Over the past years I seem to have lost the knack for writing.

The easiest thing about writing is to "write what you know." My college eng. teacher/creative writing teacher drilled that into me and the rest of my classmates. it's the best piece of advice b/c then when you write it's not so forced.
