Question.

Does anyone know of a disease that would be detectable (i.e. the person who has it knows they have it) but pretty much unnoticeable to anyone else. Also needs to be something that they could die of suddenly.

Anything fit that criteria??

There are some kinds of cancers that can go on like that...sometimes when symptoms do show up, it's already too late. Why is it you ask?

Just for a story I may or may not write.

I actually started it in high school when I wrote a lot. I seem to have lost the knack now. :(

Also, Lupus SLE...my father has it but from looking at him you would never know he's sick. Some people die from it right away and some don't...my father's been diagnosed with it since the early 90's and the only thing that's kept him around this long is the heavy doses of meds he's had to take. However, the meds along with the disease take a nasty toll on a person's body. I am sure there are more diseases out there, but cancer and Lupus are the only ones I'm really familiar with.

TB can get really nasty.

Lots of coughing up blood and other gross stuff like that.

That was one of my main problems with Moulin Rouge, it's not a dainty cough and a bit of blood on a hanky. Towards the end it's rather gruesome.

There's lots of them Cossie, heart disease, what I've got lots of other most show some signs but only when they're advanced and usual ppl only see them if they're looking for it. People don't really did of any disease suddenly it just seems sudden because people aren't usually aware of the problem.

TB is RATHER noticable. As is AIDS. Heart problems arent obviously noticable without training. Nor are most cancers.... the usual reasons people are aware of someone having cancer are they are told or the person is on chemo/radio therapy.
Unnoticable to whom? Everyone, random strangers, family, doctors? If you're talking random strangers, an awful lot of fatal diseases wouldn't be noticable. If you're talking family then few would be unnoticed, in effect if not in cause. If you're talking doctors then how does the person know they have the disease?

undetectable except by testing, would be a large list mostly covered already.

undetectable unless told. possibly just as large a list.

I agree with the Lupus. Outwardly you probably wouldn't know that someone had it and it can be quite fatal. Hmmm......other than that I'm not sure.
