Well, my present for mum for mother's day is taken care of. Yesterday she requested an illusion necklace with tiger eye on it. She said "Make it for me for Mother's Day." So I did.

Not bad for my first necklace. I daresay they are easier than earrings!

The essay is done I guess. It's too short, but I find I write everything short and succinct. Anything more and I would ramble. But I always lose marks for it being too short. Bah. I have covered the essentials, so a pass will make me happy.

I ate my last creme egg! How sad. Hopefully I can find some in shops tomorrow (even more hopefully marked down to 20c or so!)

And to finish - a picture of the sushi I made last night, just 'cause it looks pretty.

Must go birding... itching for a twitching... tomorrow... yes... *goes insane*

Got an FTP program working - YAY! So now you can see my works of art.

This is the first pair I made. Pretty basic stuff, but still funky.

Then I came up with a theme - Lollies!! (or just sweet things).

So I made "Toffee Apple". I'm not sure if I like these or not. I think these will go on eBay.

And Cotton Candy - these are my favourite so far. They are made with cherry quartz, rose quartz and mother-of-pearl with silver spacers. I think I'll keep these and make another set to sell on eBay.

I'm on a bead buying frenzy at the moment. Hopefully I'll end up with enough variety - and enough feature beads - to make some nice stuff that will pull a decent amount on eBay.

I'd show you a photo but CuteFTP expired again. They are just 3 strands with multicoloured bugle beads. Simple but kinda funky. A bit messy and uneven but I'll get the technique as I go along.

I think the wire cutters on the pliers I got with the kit are cactus. They refuse to cut tigertail without a lot of coaxing - causing the wire to be all frayed once it is cut. Now I must invest in some sharp wire cutters. *sigh* Ones that cut through memory wire as well.

*about 5 minutes later*

w00t! Matt does have his bouts of genius. Nail clippers make VERY good wire cutters. *grinz*

P.S. And for those of you quitting smoking - THIS is very nifty.

Lingo

It's amazing how quickly I pick up the lingo of a certain hobby.

When talking about birdwatching you'll find me calling it "birding" most of the time, and I'll rattle off such words as "LBJ" (little brown job), "pishing", "jizz", "twitcher" and the like.

Now I'm into the jewellery thing and after about 2 days of looking at eBay I know what french hooks, crimps, tigertail, eyepins, headpins, parrot clasps, cats eyes, spacers and the likes all are and how to use them (now just to purchase them!)
