Another that was a relief to find it was just a dream.

I dreamed I was on holiday, like I will be soon down in Denmark. There were various details but this is just the most memorable.

I was parked in a carpark somewhere and it was on a slope. I'm driving out and something must have distracted me, I can't really remember, but anyway whatever it was caused me to accidentally hit the corner of the car in the row in front of me. Just a slight dent. The woman in that car starts yelling and I get out of the car to apologise and stuff, and she gets back in her car and drives off... I have left my handbrake on.

With no car in front to stop it my car rolls off, too fast for me to catch up, it rolls down the entire carpark, hitting a few things as it does so then comes to an embankment and topples over. All because this silly woman DROVE OFF.

There was more but that's the essence of it.

So, I'd dug a hole. Beside my bed. I don't know why. I don't know HOW I managed to dig a hole using only my hands when the house is on a concrete slab and that is on top of freaking hard clay.

But anyway, I'd dug a hole, a really deep hole. Like, way deeper than my arm could actually reach but the hole was hardly more than the width of my arm. I mean seriously deep, like 100 metres or more.

So, I must have dug this hole for a reason because I had 3 blokes with me preparing to jump down said hole. I have no idea why. One was my brother, one reminded me a bit of Tom Hiddleston. The other may have been Matt, I can't recall.

All three of them jumped down the hole with no gear whatsoever. Somehow they were able to just jump in and fall to the bottom and not get hurt, not to mention the fact that this hole was just a bit wider than my arm.

As the last one was falling, I thought to myself, I hope they don't get hurt when one lands on top of the other and then, How are they meant to get OUT of there again!!??

So I got a bit worried. Worried about my 3 friends down the hole and worried I'd get in trouble for it. So then the thought came, Well, they're grown men and they were fine with just jumping in!

I put my ear to the hole (because remember - diameter of my arm) and could hear faint yelling from far, far away. I couldn't make out what was being yelled but I assumed it was my name. I wished they'd gone down with a 2-way radio so we could communicate. I figured we could just put a rope down there and pull them back up, but another weird thought crossed my mind that a rope strong enough to haul them up would fill most of the hole because - narrow hole!

It was freaking weird, and worrying and kinda sad. I can still hear that faint voice yelling from far, far away.

But my first "non-lucid" dream in a while, which means I've actually managed to sleep heavily for a while. I don't think lucid is really the correct term for the dreams I've been having, but they are the kind I am more conciously aware of where they're going and they don't let me fall into deep sleep and just let my mind wander into utter bizarreness.

It started with me with a couple of other folks on a dock or pier or something somewhere. Sketchy on the details but somehow we are kidnapped and ushered into a bus by Amygdala (a lesser known Arkham Asylum inmate) and driven to a suburban house, which seems to be holding a large kids party, we disembark the bus and wander to the young couple who seem to own the house.

Turns out they are running some child-selling racket - hence all the kids. I ask if they have been kidnapped from their parents - yes they have. I tsk and say they should have stolen orphans. They are needing more people to help look after all the kids (there are maybe 50 of them? - all under 10, most under 7 years of age). They want me as a cook. Apparently they have videos of me as a teenager that they will as blackmail if I try to leave/rat them out. I immediately start racking my brains to see if I actually DID anything incriminating as a teenager that may have been filmed.

Despite being kidnapped, all the kids seem happy and pretty well behaved. Of course, the streamers and balloons in the front yard and the guy in costume and the petting zoo trailer are all part of the ruse to make the abundance of children seem normal, but they are also there to entertain the kids. I go for a wander around the property.

It's a pretty regular one storey house - 70's/80's style, a large front room which has a metallic ceiling and a big screen TV and lots of beanbags and doonas and boardgames on the floor among kids and stuffed toys. The house has various extensions on the back - all large dorm rooms, with triple decker bunks for all the kids to sleep in. The quarters are a bit cramped, but well kept and clean. The backyard is large and has more play equipment and a few well appointed caravans, these I discover are staff quarters.

At some point I mention to the couple that I have never cooked for a crowd before, let alone 50 kids. I will certainly be needing a bigger kitchen and some sous chefs. They mention they are building a transportable that will be the new kitchen, and the older kids will make great helpers.

Eventually night falls, and despite there only being a few bathrooms that I can detect, all the kids end up bathed and in their pyjamas and ready for bed. I use the bathroom too and as I'm heading out a little blonde girl asks for a hug.

I think I woke up then. Weird. I love dreams.

Had another pretty vivid dream this morning.

Among other things one part really stands out.

Two Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoos were hanging around a Common Bronzewing's nest. The Bronzewing was looking pretty distressed but eventually left the nest and the cuckoo moved in. The cuckoo pushed out all of the Bronzewing's eggs. No actually, it would push out a Bronzewing egg (which looked like a green foil-wrapped Easter egg) and replace it with one of it's bright orange eggs. It repeated this procedure until there were no Bronzewing eggs left. Unlike in real life, where cuckoos are pretty surreptitious about their laying, this one did it in full view of the Bronzewing sitting on a nearby branch.

I used to always have dreams involving amusement parks. And always something would go wrong, like I couldn't go on a certain ride, or I just couldn't get to a ride or something.

I also often dream about volcanoes (usually in weird places, like my bedroom), or other various disasters natural and unnatural. These aren't bad dreams, I guess I have them because I'm fascinated by the disastrous. They are exciting dreams.

Come to think of it, I barely ever have what I'd consider a nightmare, most are just adventures, which may be scary at times. I'm a big fan of dreams. :)

I dreamt I caught Greycat last night, and he didn't struggle while I was holding him.

I also dreamed various other weird things.

- I came home (with Greycat over my shoulder) and our fridge was gone. There were guys painting stuff on the walls of the computer room and they explained that there was a mouse problem in the house that was worse than first expected and they were getting to work on it. I was just, "The agents didn't tell us about this. Where's our fridge!?" There seemed to be an awful lot of people around in the house too. And an extra room - which I put Greycat in.

- I dreamed I went birding at some place where there was a bit of snow. I saw a duck eat a small rabbit. I saw a polar bear. Everyone else wandered off leaving me with the stuff (hey that happens in real life too!), and I misplaced my binoculars. I was also using the cups and water from a car that wasn't mine.

Dreams are sooo weird.

I had two rather agitating dreams last night. But I'm not sure I want to write the details here.

In one dream the BBO got upgraded - in a really bad way.
The other involved a very rude and threatening smoker.

I read in the paper recently in one of the columns - this woman was having a "toilet seeking" dream. She was looking for a toilet to use but they were all filthy and unusable. Apparently this signifies anxiety and personal growth. I have the toilet seeking dream - all the time. It seems to have replaced the amusement park dream, which I barely ever have anymore. And I still don't know what it meant.

In the past week however I've dreamt about paddling down a large river in a canoe or kayak or similar vessel. Must look this one up.

They met late one night in the city
Both men knew only one would stay
Scratched a picture of a heart on a bullet
And took his life away

No relevance to the above verse, it's just been in my head.

I had a dream that we went to South America to see the ancient civilisations and I was simply awed by it all. I also took the opportunity to do some birdwatching, seeing as I was in a different country and was bound to see a whole new bunch of birds. There were galahs and rainbow loris there, which had obviously been introduced but I also saw some green parrots with grey heads, a different species of pelican, some new species of gull I wasn't familiar with and a turkey vulture. I was getting so excited by all these new birds and at first I was like "Damn I forgot my bird book!" But then I thought a little longer and realised my book is only for Australian birds anyway. So I frantically wrote down descriptions for later ID and took a few photos.

The combo of new birds and just being at a place like Macchu Picchu was simply awesome. Unfortunate that I woke up and was back here.
