I have. Quite a few times. There was a stage where I was entering every competition in the TV Hits magazines I used to buy all the time. I'd have prizes show up on my doorstep and I'd go, "Huh, what's this? What the heck did I enter to win THAT?"

But there was a better win earlier when I was 10. I put one entry into a country-wide competition on Agro's Cartoon Connection to win a bunch of Matchbox Carousel stuff (the carousel, the display stand, and 17 horses/animals). I won it. It's beautiful and I still have it and it's probably worth quite a bit now being Matchbox and all and the fact that they only made them for about 3 years in the early 90s.

Apparently I was notified I'd won a prize as part of a radio subscription. I was told I'd be contacted later for details.

Hah.

Oh well. I suspect it wasn't a prize I would have enjoyed anyway.

I've won a few things from radio stations. Records when I was a kid, and CD's and concert tickets when I grew up lol.

I've won the lottery a couple times. Got 4 out of 6 numbers. Surprisingly a lot less money than the 6 number winners lol. One was for $16 and one was for $24.

I have one of those Matchbox Carousel Horses in the package. I got it at a garage sale. I collect carousel horses and always wanted those when I was a kid lol.

I only remember winning one major contest. It was a contest to design a jumper, and the winner had their jumper made (I was about 10 at the time).

My jumper design was a field with a unicorn and a princess. On the front it was daytime, and there was a rainbow going along one arm of it. On the back it was nighttime, and the unicorn was asleep and dreaming.

I won my age bracket and had the jumper I designed made up. It was one of the most exciting things ever! I was so happy to win a competition that was skill/creativity based. I still have the jumper at home, although now it's obviously far too tiny to wear. ^___^

I'm still vaguely considering framing it and sticking it up on the wall. Although since the design is on both sides, it won't display terribly well.

You could maybe stick it in a clear plastic case and dangle it from the ceiling or put it on a pedestal in the centre of the room or something...
Or dress a doll in it and keep the doll on display - maybe turn the jumper around every now and then.

Her post reminded me....although this wasn't a contest....it was still like a prize of sorts. When I was in the 5th grade everyone at school had to make some drawings. Then one or 2 from each grade was picked to be a month of our school calendar. My drawing was picked to be on the cover. It was a drawing of 2 MLP's in the stable. I believe minty and peachy or snuzzle though I could be wrong lol. I remember the principal taking me aside and asking me if I'd drawn the picture myself and not traced it. I said that yes, I drew it myself, I just copied it from a coloring book.
