Writer's Block: You're a Winner!

I have. Quite a few times. There was a stage where I was entering every competition in the TV Hits magazines I used to buy all the time. I'd have prizes show up on my doorstep and I'd go, "Huh, what's this? What the heck did I enter to win THAT?"
But there was a better win earlier when I was 10. I put one entry into a country-wide competition on Agro's Cartoon Connection to win a bunch of Matchbox Carousel stuff (the carousel, the display stand, and 17 horses/animals). I won it. It's beautiful and I still have it and it's probably worth quite a bit now being Matchbox and all and the fact that they only made them for about 3 years in the early 90s.

Oh well. I suspect it wasn't a prize I would have enjoyed anyway.

Date: 2009-06-14 09:00 pm (UTC)I've won the lottery a couple times. Got 4 out of 6 numbers. Surprisingly a lot less money than the 6 number winners lol. One was for $16 and one was for $24.
I have one of those Matchbox Carousel Horses in the package. I got it at a garage sale. I collect carousel horses and always wanted those when I was a kid lol.

Date: 2009-06-15 02:33 am (UTC)My jumper design was a field with a unicorn and a princess. On the front it was daytime, and there was a rainbow going along one arm of it. On the back it was nighttime, and the unicorn was asleep and dreaming.
I won my age bracket and had the jumper I designed made up. It was one of the most exciting things ever! I was so happy to win a competition that was skill/creativity based. I still have the jumper at home, although now it's obviously far too tiny to wear. ^___^
I'm still vaguely considering framing it and sticking it up on the wall. Although since the design is on both sides, it won't display terribly well.
