Went to bank.
Closed savings account that had a great interest rate when I opened, which plummeted at some point and I only realised recently.
Opened new savings account with a better rate and an even BETTER rate if I don't make any withdrawals in a month.
Opened ANOTHER savings account which will get $500 a month dumped in it, with a GREAT interest rate - but I can't touch the money until a year passes.

Still to do
Change "spendings" account to one that doesn't charge maintenance fees. Just need to figure out who takes out payments directly so I can notify them of the change.
Get "Zero Mastercard", so I can have a credit card but not have to use it and still gain a good credit rating.

Yay for streamlining my finances!

BOQ and credit unions appear to be the way to go. I almost went with Bank of Qld, their interest rates are better then pncs (police and nurses) but they dont have the online facilities i love with pncs

Be careful with the credit card. I don't know what it's like there, but I just read an article today (in the USA) that a lot of companies are closing accounts that don't get x amount of usage. They'll notify you but it might not be until the account is closed. Which I think is really stupid and screws over people like your or me who only have a card to up the score and for emergencies.
