One Pricey Cat
Oct. 8th, 2008 09:13 pmI came home and was greeted by Bella at the gate. Where's Lil? I thought. I found her on the raised part of the yard. She was kinda crouching and not responding when I called her. I went up to her and called her and she didn't budge. I notice some sloppy poo behind her and get a bit worried. SoI feed Bella, grab some toast to keep the worms away and take Lil to the vet. As soon as I put the carrier near her she got up and walked into it - weird cat.
I am grateful that I live so close to an emergency vet that charges regular prices until 9pm. She had some bloodwork done, and all up the trip cost almost $300.
Her issue is probably either kidney failure - common in older cats, or hyperthyroidism - which she shows a lot of the symptoms of. No idea how much it will cost to treat if that is the problem - but hopefully it resolves her toileting issues.
