Greenhouse
Jun. 20th, 2008 09:26 amSo, too many people still believe we should just sit on our arses and not do anything about global warming until the "hard scientific evidence" rolls in, whatever that means.
But really, there is irrefutable evidence already, there was 20 years or more ago.
It's known that carbon in the atmosphere contributes to a "greenhouse effect" and subsequent warming and/or climate change. We know that from studying previous ice ages on Earth and Venus's climate.
It's known that burning fossil fuels directly dumps carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. And we've burning these fuels for a few hundred years now, not to mention the wood and coal that has been being burned for many years before that.
So, where is this doubt that our incessant burning of fossil fuels is NOT contributing to global climate change?

But it still shocks and alarms me that there are still plenty of people sticking their heads in the sand and insisting that will resume their current wasteful lifestyle until some sort of "evidence" pops up.
