So, I'd been working for the Echo for three days. They threw me into a sales job, not what I applied for but they thought I'd be good at it anyway. It actually looked quite interesting and I was beginning to get excited about it. After two days following people around or mostly just sitting in the office twiddling my thumbs I was sent out today to give out some cards in Malaga and let them know about the Echo. Squee, finally I was out there.
Not long after I got back I was taken aside and told they don't think I'll make it and they were "letting me go" now instead of "prolonging it".
What I was meant to do in 3 days with no experience or instruction I have no freakin' idea. As always you're never told what the real reasons are, because that's just the way it's done. I'm clueless. And unemployed again.
Go figure.

Date: 2006-08-09 08:57 am (UTC)i think they owe you some kind of explanation as to why you were let go!
i once got fired from a job under similar circumstances, except i'd been there about 2.5 months... all they could tell me was that i "wasn't fitting in"... i mean, wtf?

Date: 2006-08-09 09:12 am (UTC)I've also seen workers who turn up late, chuck sickies, slack off.
They never get the sack. I would NEVER do shit like that, and I can't seem to hold down any job. Maybe I should just turn into an asshole, that seems to be what's required.
