When I went to the trade board on the TP, explorer would crash, taking the active desktop and most of the systray with it *grr*.

I rebooted but it's still doing it.

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in

Well, Firstly, it's NortOn not NortEn :)

And secondly, yes, it is possible to still get viruses even though you are running a scanner. New viruses are written all the time and most virus scanners cannot detect ones they don't know about. The best thing to do is keep the virus scanner signitures up to date. I run a scanner called AVG. There is a free version available on their website at http://www.grisoft.com/. They release updates for it every 2 or 3 days and the updates are free forever.

I got AVG briefly but couldn't make heads or tails of it. It seems the latest problem has gone away for now anyway.
