Balls of feet = sore
Mar. 5th, 2003 09:21 pmI never thought there'd be a time when I wanted to be in heels. Next week I will wear my platforms. Like ballroom, salsa is all on the balls of the feet, sandals were no good for that so I got rid of them, but bare feet on carpet = nasty friction, hence sore feet.
Interesting dancing. Teacher was about a quarter hour late so we went overtime. At the start I was beginning to regret spending the $35. She stuck on some Latin music and started dancing around and just expected us to follow her, half the time I couldn't even hear what she was saying, which wasn't helped by her pretty strong accent. But after a while we all seemed to fall in and she started to actually show us the steps a little better. Of course I fell into doing some rumba and samba steps, because that's what I'm used to doing to that kind of music, but hey, it kinda fits in.
I will hafta get back into proper latin ballroom dancing. This stuff is okay, but the steps are like what you'd just do in a nighclub anyway, nothing special about it like ballroom which has some precise nifty steps but can still be a theme and variation.
And as a sidenote, Subway feta cheese is more like parmesan.
