I never thought there'd be a time when I wanted to be in heels. Next week I will wear my platforms. Like ballroom, salsa is all on the balls of the feet, sandals were no good for that so I got rid of them, but bare feet on carpet = nasty friction, hence sore feet.

Interesting dancing. Teacher was about a quarter hour late so we went overtime. At the start I was beginning to regret spending the $35. She stuck on some Latin music and started dancing around and just expected us to follow her, half the time I couldn't even hear what she was saying, which wasn't helped by her pretty strong accent. But after a while we all seemed to fall in and she started to actually show us the steps a little better. Of course I fell into doing some rumba and samba steps, because that's what I'm used to doing to that kind of music, but hey, it kinda fits in.

I will hafta get back into proper latin ballroom dancing. This stuff is okay, but the steps are like what you'd just do in a nighclub anyway, nothing special about it like ballroom which has some precise nifty steps but can still be a theme and variation.

And as a sidenote, Subway feta cheese is more like parmesan.

Glad you got into the swing of things :D We'll have to show off our dancing steps next time we go to a party that actually has some dancing-type music :D

*loves her mutated spanish imitation dance, even if it freaks Clare out* ;D

It's the weird dance I did for about 30 seconds last Saturday at Paul's. I stopped because I decided not to embarrass Clare any further. But oh, it's fun dancing in a silly way :D

I think that its so cool that your taking dance class. I am as well even though its a different type of dance, but I could relate to what your saying. In Middle Eastern dance we do a couple type of moves on the balls of our feet. We also don't wear shoes on the dance floor, so the feet could kind of get sore :P

Yeppers, its awesome! At first I was just belly dancing for fitness when I started buying the Veena and Neena tapes, but then I got hooked on it. I developed a passion for the dance, so now I'm enrolled in belly dance class. Its awesome! I'm glad you loving it :)

Hey!! I have copyright of a dance that looks like the Macarena gone wrong! My version is a lot harder to learn than the actual Macarena. The movements look simple enough but just try it, everyone screws it up for a while. It took me a bit of just sitting and thinking hard about the movements before I got it right, but now I can do it no problems. It's kinda like the rubbing your tummy while patting your head thing.
