Got an FTP program working - YAY! So now you can see my works of art.

This is the first pair I made. Pretty basic stuff, but still funky.

Then I came up with a theme - Lollies!! (or just sweet things).

So I made "Toffee Apple". I'm not sure if I like these or not. I think these will go on eBay.

And Cotton Candy - these are my favourite so far. They are made with cherry quartz, rose quartz and mother-of-pearl with silver spacers. I think I'll keep these and make another set to sell on eBay.

I'm on a bead buying frenzy at the moment. Hopefully I'll end up with enough variety - and enough feature beads - to make some nice stuff that will pull a decent amount on eBay.

I really like those Cotton Candy ones! And those green and red ones look alittle like cherry's on their stalks :D I think they'll sell well on eBay :D

The third pair are nice. As are the first pair. Not sure about the middle ones though...

I'm impressed at the way you've thrown yourself into all this. Good luck with the selling of them :D

How does one get into making those kind of things? I've always loved crafts and jewellery, I used to have a kit where I could make beaded rings but its gone now. These days I just paint wooden things like boxes and chairs and things, its getting a bit boring now.
So where would I go to get into that stuff?

eBay. :)

I was spending so much buying the work of other people (especially one woman in Esperance who makes BEAUTIFUL stuff) that I figured I may as well make some myself and recoup some costs. It looked pretty easy (and it is kinda).

I bought a big starter kit off eBay which cost about $100. That had findings, loads of beads, 4 in 1 pliers and an instruction book. Now I'm rabidly buying cheap lots of beads.

Oh cuteness! I love the earrings, and I bet there are many more on the way. What about some liquorice ones (black with blue, pink, yellow, white, etc)? Keep up the great work, and keep posting pics.

There's a beautiful bead store in my new hometown. Maybe I'll start making beaded things... or just take requests on beads for buyers *lol* They have beautiful metal beads and beads shaped like cool things... basically anything you could ever want, including lovely semiprecious stones.

Those cotton Candy ones are very pretty, Prehaps if you take commissions I'll commission a pair off you. Or I'll just have to try and remember how to make earrings. Used to do that with mom

Yep.

I intend to sell some on eBay to recoup some of my costs. :)

I'm also intending to make necklaces, bracelets and anklets too.

cool, can you actually make a profit doing that?

Can't come to karaoke, bugger it. Got a full shift at work. (and ironically, am totally free tomorrow night. go bloody figure--I hardly ever get thursdays.)

And tell Matt I hope he's feeling better soon :)

Dunno if I'll profit.
But I'll at least recoup some of my costs and get lots of pretty beads and stuff in the process!

I've been making some jewelry lately too. But it's so expensive for me I dunno how I'll make a profit. You must be finding things much cheaper. I'm figuring I'll be lucky if I make something that sells for $15....and it cost me $30 just the other day to get enough beads to make a necklace and bracelet for myself!

I made a necklace and bracelet for my favorite musician's birthday and they came out really nice, but I'm sure I spent at least $30 when I bought those materials too. I do have some left though, so I'll have to see how my own come out and decide if I want to start selling any. Maybe I'll take some pics when mine are done. I forgot to take pics of Fergie's.

eBay often has bulk lots of stuff for a decent price.

It's the only way I'm buying at the moment. I've found bead shops cost too much and you don't get the variety.
