I was in Herdsman Fresh yesterday, buying veggies and fruit... and smoked trout, and a goat blue cheese...

Anyway, I bought bananas. Both the regular and organic bananas were the same price ("Eco" bananas, with the wax tips were $2 a kilo more - I wonder what the difference between an organic and Eco banana is).

Anyway, in the end I bought the regular bananas. I would have bought the organic ones, but they were packaged with plastic and polysterene! Go figure.

I'm not sure which has the more enviornmental impact, but I didn't have a huge amount of time to consider it as I was on my lunch break.

That is... very ironic. I've noticed that too with organic bananas, that they're packed in plastic and polystyrene. The only reason I can think that they'd do that; is that they might rot faster than preservatived bananas, and so need a vacuum seal. But it's still stupid. :/
