I've been thinking about this all day and I think I've found the perfect word!

"Verisimilitude"

The most bizarre thing is that I first encountered this word in a children's picture book!

Persnickety has always been one of my "words" I use it quite often. And ever since joining the MLP community, Snarky has been a useful word for me lol.
