But of course Telstra makes everyone wait and the internet is still not fully up at our new place (we also need to get an electrician to actually do some rewiring before my computer can go online. I also should call Abacus and tell them the wireless network card I requested doesn't seem to work - and never has).

Seriously considering just quitting my job, I'd really like a bit more money in the coffers first though, can't afford to spend more than a few weeks unemployed.

From Shell & Ian - Tealight candle holder
From Craig & Maureen - A box of homemade Christmassy baked goodies - and the plastic containers they're packed in.
From Bek & Keiran - 2 framed fairy-wren cross-stiches.

Matt hasn't got me anything yet (and I haven't got him anything - all this moving buisness didn't leave much time), but I'm pushing for a Le Creuset casserole dish.

Seems Matt booked someone this morning. The phone in the kitchen was wired directly to the wall (yay for relics from the 70s), so that needed rewiring to make it a proper phone point so we can plug in our phone and an ADSL filter, we're also getting a phone point put in the computer room, because the wireless on my PC is shit and we just want a stronger signal overall. Currently the modem is in the bedroom and the computers are waaayyy up the other end of the house. The laptop in the loungeroom gets a fine signal (I'm using that for now), Matt's PC gets a decent signal and my computer gets nothing - but I believe my wireless card is a bit dodgy because I could never connect via wireless at the old place, and the modem wasn't more than a metre away.

I know it's probably just wishful thinking but it's a bad time to be quitting your job unless you have another one to go to.
