Well, the first day of spring turned out to be rather pleasant thank you. Blue Brie is very nice.

*looking forward to the return of Rainbow Bee-eaters*

That always confused me seeing on the news in the U.S. winter has started, and it's December 21.

I don't know about the rest of the southern hemisphere, but I've always learned that Summer is Dec/Jan/Feb, Autumn is March/Apr/May, Winter is Jun/Jul/Aug and Spring is Sep/Oct/Nov.

See I was always taught to go by the equinoxes and solstices...so the dates are different.

There is a popular RBE nesting site along my cycle to/from work. When it gets busy there, you can see a good 12-20 perched on the powerlines overhead. Plus the however many flitting about munching on the mozzies and other buzzy things!

It is a part of the ride I always look forward to in the warmer months.

On the bike path parallel to Stephenson Avenue in Osborne Park. Just off John Sanders Drive.

There is an old re-routed creek that they now call a drain, a foot bridge and a nice little park. To get to it by car, you turn east anywhere along Liege Street.

Enjoy!

Ah. On the western side of Herdsman lake, near the historic cottage thing (which I've never actually seen), there is a large bank of dirt where Bee-eaters nest as well.
