Amazing how these thing affect you

Kittypix has it's regulars. You get to know certain cats pretty well.
Mr. Blueberry was a maine coon kitty. He was old, and then he developed a kidney problem which his owner did everything she could to treat and it worked for a year or so. He was pestered by his younger "siblings" Grapenut and... I forget the name of the youngest one. I knew that eventually the inevitable would happen.
Today a post appeared on my f-list, a photo of Blueberry with 2 dates written below it.
I never even met this cat, but I started crying. Most likely he died peacefully, it's still awfully sad. I can't imagine how his owner feels. When you have a friend for that long (he was 18 years old), it's shattering when they finally go.
Strangely, Donut's sudden death a few years ago didn't make me as sad as Blueberry's inevitable passing.
