I wish Excell had "sort into taxonomic order". A (H) means I heard it but didn't see it.

Is that a list of daily sightings and 'hearings'? It's a good idea.. I went through my list (20 odd years worth ^^) and found it easier to put them into their species.

Rufous and Golden Whistlers were very common around here at one time...do you see them often?

I've been keeping a daily list in Excell since April 2005. I think I've missed maybe 3 days in that time.

It keeps birding interesting for me, because even if I don't see new birds, I can catalogue everything I see in the day and if it's getting late and I find that I haven't seen, say a magpie that day, I'll go out and find one, because I SHOULD have seen a magpie around here.

I hear a rufous whistler almost every day at work (work is set among a bunch of marri trees). I don't see it often though.

Golden whistlers are out at Dryandra and Tutanning - two reserves I'm often working on.

I've now figured out how to differentiate their calls.
