I like to have a shower before bed. To me it makes sense - you wash off all the grot of the day and you're nice and clean while you sleep - you also don't get the sheets all skanky that way. Matt on the other hand likes to shower in the mornings - so I have to sleep with a sweaty, smelly man. So lets settle this once and for all.

With my odd schedule and also a dislike of taking a shower/bath when Thads in the house I take one whenever I feel like it. Bee it morning noon evening or midnight.

my friend has a theory that if she showers at night, then she has to wash her bedlinen less ebcause she is clean when she goes to bed, though my opionion is, you can bloody wash linen, it isnt hard. besides in summer it gets really hot and I dont want to smell sweaty before going to work.

when I was a waitress, I would shower whenever... usually in the vicinity of when I got out of bed.

also iiNet had in their dress policy that you had to shower atleast 12 hours before getting to work. so If I had an 11.30 start.... I got used to showing in the morning

I try to wash sheets once a fortnight, they're just dirtier if you sleep in them all dirty and sweaty.

I love washing my linen. there is nothing like going to sleep in clean fresh linen

except it sometimes plays havoc with my hayfever.... damn pollen

Washing the isn't an issue. It's just remaking the damn bed that I have problems with.

geez that's a little bit dictatorial of iinet to tell you when you should shower!

the wording is somewhere along the lines of "All staff should attend work freshly showered with the appropriate use of deodorant, aftershave or perfume"... according to current staff at iiNet. appears they have got rid of the manditory 12 hour rule....

What if you're allergic to all that smelly crap?

dunno.

I never wore perfume though. there were only a couple girls I know that did regularly, though impulse is more common.

If I've been doing sweaty-stuff, like exercise, then I'll have a shower after that, but otherwise all my showers are in the morning. It stuffs up my hair too much otherwise, because I don't like hair-dryers (is crap on my fine hair), and if I don't use a hair-dryer, my hair takes in excess of 3 hours to dry.

Ironically, if I tie my hair up, it takes more than 12 hours to dry through. So showers in the morning are the way to go. Plus I find it refreshing, like a way of 'waking up' to the day. :)

Ironically, I hate the feeling of greasy hair, so wash my hair every day. Lol. I hate it to the point where it makes me feral, in the same way that I don't like being touched / hugged / sweaty skin etc.

I'm just...
incredibly strange.

I love being squeeky clean in bed! Hate going to bed unshowered! BLICK!

Sure it kinda messes with my hair in the morning but that's why you water down your brush! HEHEHE

If I don't shower in the morning, I cannot do my hair. Morning showers.

Considering I get to work with concentrated acids, metals, dirt and other cool and not-so-cool stuff in the lab, I shower when I get home before dinner, and if I can't manage that, definitely before bed.

Skanky is the last of my concerns.

If I've been working in the field showers happen as soon as I get home because I'm usually sweaty and filthy and I also strip off ASAP to check for ticks.

Yes, I remember that at one introductory talk at one of the Conservation Australia Volunteer projects, the DEC guy mentioned all the critters to be worried about, namely dugites and tiger snakes. I was fine until he mentioned ticks.

I was paranoid when I got home and scrubbed my skin so hard, (even though rationally I knew that it wouldn't be of help if I had a tick).

*votes both*

It's nice after a *headdesk*'ing day to have a shower and be fresh... but then I can't start my morning without one either ;)

I do both, a good scrub at night to get rid of stink, grot and make-up (a subset of grot), and then a rinse and hair wash in the morning.

If I don't wash my hair in the morning, it is in a very bad place. Bad hair.

Aww that's just not nice being all clean then having to sleep with a dirty man *laughs*

I take before bed showers, and for some reason that translates to me having to wash my own sheets *growls*

I have one morning and night. Night always because of work and morning because it wakes me up. I also just love having showers period and spend a lot of my time in the shower standing there daydreaming and planning out the day etc hehe.

I am a morning showerer. I just don't have the energy to have a shower at night. However if I've done something to make me grotty/sweaty during the day, I will shower when I get home in addition to the showering in the morning.

My hubby is a night time showerer - for the same reasons you give - even though he does nothing to get grotty/sweaty during the day.

I do the bed washing - so I don't care.

I have to say that I am surprisingly fascinated to hear what other peoples showering routines are. Its one of those things people don't really talk about much, but its interesting.

If I have had a long hot day, and am feeling tired and bleh I will have a shower in the evening. Or if its so hot I don't think I'll sleep well I have one just before bed.

Otherwise I always have mine in the morning. My hair goes all fluffy and boofy otherwise, and I often feel sweaty if it has been a hot night. Also I want to be at my cleanest just before putting on my clean clothes.

What 'e said. Morning preference to get the night grot out of my system, but evening as well if I'm a grubby little monkey.
