So I went out and bought a DVD/VCR player today. I figured I'll get it today so I can get UHF channels, tune into WIN and watch Idol tomorrow.

So I tune it in, it goes finding channels. It finds 3 different channels. Yay!

Then I check the channels. GWN as usual. ABC as usual. The other channel is SBS. Apparently here you either get WIN or SBS, they require the aerial to be facing in opposite directions for each of them. Just my luck my aerial is facing the SBS direction and I have no way to turn it in the near future.

Goddammit!

Bummer, that sucks. You can watch clips of the performances on the website, but the quality is shocking. And you're on dialup, too. Double bummer.

Have you tried using rabbit ears instead?

Also, do I remember wrong, or is being simulcast on the radio? At least then you might be able to hear it.

I do not remember wrong--the concert shows at least are being simulcast on PMFM. Can you get that out there?

At the moment I'm getting by downloading the MP3s and slowly getting through watching the performances on Youtube.

Not the same tho.

I did mention that Mark said that there were 2 aerial directions needed to get all the channels...

A solution is to get someone to tape the shows for you and now that you have a vcr, you can watch the tapes...

still not perfect, but it's probably got better bandwidth than downloading them on dialup...
