The cheapest thing to buy is actually standard spritzers, that are used by ironing women (and men) worldwide who don't like the steamer function in irons. They cost about a dollar, hold about 500mls (max usually), can be changed to have a jet stream or misting function (the jet stream is the one we use), and you can usually afford to buy about five and leave them in strategic places throughout the house, such as the kitchen (to keep them off the kitchen bench and table), the bedroom, the lounge (if they beg) etc.
