Tres cool. Why was/is the Western Spinebill your nemesis? There's at least one nesting pair in the Koondoola bushland, I located the nest about 2 years ago as the male was doing his distinctive breeding call, and it can be seen distantly from the path. They're not too vocal though, and unless they're calling, I never really spot them.

Not that I've been able to get out there for four freakin' months. *cries*

You are so much better at this than I am. Lol. :)

"Nemesis bird" or "Bogey bird", a bird you never seem to be able to spot, despite being where it should be multiple times.

I had seen female Western Spinebills a few times, even one on the nest, but Sunday was my first look at a male, I got multiple good looks at him, purrrdy.

They are very pretty. :) Especially their throat markings, I could just stare for ages. The male I met was pretty curious, but considering I used to go there almost every day for half an hour, I've only seen him... maybe three, four times?

Inconspicuous little bastard. But when he (and she) are there, they hang around for ages.
