During a press conference Richard Carleton, the famous 60 Minutes reporter asked a question typical of him ("On 26th October last year, not 10 metres from where these men are now entombed, you had a 400-tonne rock fall. Why is it, is it the strength of the seam, or the wealth of the seam, that you continue to send men into work in such a dangerous environment?") He then wandered off and collapsed from a heart attack and died on the way to the hospital.

Talking about chequebook, there was a rumour that Mr Maguire himself was heading to tasmania to spend the packers money to get the story of those miners, though that was tasteless, he obvously sent one of him minions instead...
