Back of TV looks like this.

DVD plugs look like this.

Matt tells me this is a problem. I'm starting to think it's not the TVs that we get are incompatible with the DVD player, he just has a weird DVD player that's incompatible with the TVs we get.

BTW - this is the whole setup. Just need to get some DVD storage now. The collection is growing fast.

P.S. Phlegm sucks.

Bummer.

Nope, that's a normal DVD; your TV is probably just older than coaxial video plugs. (I think it's coaxial. I always get coaxial and RCA mixed up)

Actually, I just googled for images and I did get them mixed up. Oops. RCA is what the DVD has, coaxial is what the TV has.

You can probably get an adaptor from Dick Smith for a couple of bucks. OR, does the DVD player have an coaxial (aerial) plug? Cos then you can connect the video that way, and use the two audio plugs for audio. I think.

Still, go to Dick Smith with the cable and tell them you want a plug to convert it to coaxial, and problem solvered. Tandy might even have it, too.

Actually, now I think about it (darn, Luke's not here to ask) I think coaxial is the cable type, and not the plug. So tell them it's an "aerial plug" and they'll know what you mean.

Yes, what [livejournal.com profile] lotus79 said.

Said almost exactly what I was going to say, only better. And managed to chuck in a "problem solvered", too.

(*sniffle* No on around here gets it when I say "problem solvered" or "not happy Jan".)

Yeah, looks like a converter is needed.

I wish Dick Smith was open on Sundays (and I felt alive enough to go out). I was hoping we could set all the stuff up this morning and watch DVDs tonight, but it will not be so. *sigh*

Yeah but I feel like crap so going into town is kinda out of the question. :)

I just hope I feel a tad better for work tomorrow. Sheesh, in Broome I NEVER got sick.

Hee. Yeah, I've tried to explain the "not happy Jan" phenomenon to Americans before. It's amusing.

"no happy jan" is the only good thing Telstra has given us in decades... but then I think Telstra have "sold" the yellow pages to sensis now... I don't know it has been so long since I looked at an actual yellow pages *goes to yellowpages.com.au* yep they're sensis
