Back of TV looks like this.

DVD plugs look like this.

Matt tells me this is a problem. I'm starting to think it's not the TVs that we get are incompatible with the DVD player, he just has a weird DVD player that's incompatible with the TVs we get.
BTW - this is the whole setup. Just need to get some DVD storage now. The collection is growing fast.

P.S. Phlegm sucks.

Date: 2006-04-09 03:34 am (UTC)Nope, that's a normal DVD; your TV is probably just older than coaxial video plugs. (I think it's coaxial. I always get coaxial and RCA mixed up)
Actually, I just googled for images and I did get them mixed up. Oops. RCA is what the DVD has, coaxial is what the TV has.
You can probably get an adaptor from Dick Smith for a couple of bucks. OR, does the DVD player have an coaxial (aerial) plug? Cos then you can connect the video that way, and use the two audio plugs for audio. I think.
Still, go to Dick Smith with the cable and tell them you want a plug to convert it to coaxial, and problem solvered. Tandy might even have it, too.

Date: 2006-04-09 03:38 am (UTC)Said almost exactly what I was going to say, only better. And managed to chuck in a "problem solvered", too.
(*sniffle* No on around here gets it when I say "problem solvered" or "not happy Jan".)

Date: 2006-04-09 04:23 am (UTC)I wish Dick Smith was open on Sundays (and I felt alive enough to go out). I was hoping we could set all the stuff up this morning and watch DVDs tonight, but it will not be so. *sigh*

Date: 2006-04-09 07:03 am (UTC)Hee. Yeah, I've tried to explain the "not happy Jan" phenomenon to Americans before. It's amusing.
