Right-o. I have been told that I certainly shouldn't be losing almost a 3rd of my pay to tax.

I also want to change my tax-free threshold thingy from Centerlink to my job, seeing as Centerlink aren't going to be giving me money anymore.

Now I'd ring the tax office and ask but lo and behold, like any good government department they are only open during buisiness hours. I work during buisness hours and cannot make calls in that time, especially calls to government departments that will require me to be on hold for half an hour or so (that's my entire lunch break there).

It would seem I can't contact them by e-mail either.

So, anyone out there with any tax savvy know what I need to do?

Talk to whoever does your payroll and get them to tick the box saying you want it there, then phone Centerlink and tell them that you want to change your tax status (if you can be bothered - if you are not getting money from them anymore, it shouldn't matter)
