This guy sells all kinds of fruit and veg, most pretty cheap, so I went a bit nuts buying my lovely fresh produce.
What did I get?
Potatos - of course
Sweet potato
Beetroot - will have to find recipes for these
Squash
Broccoli
Rhubarb - Again I'll need to find out how to make rhubarb cobbler or something
Mangoes - One big one and bag of 5 little ones for $1! I chopped 'em up and froze them for smoothies. Took a bite of each of them and they are all good.
Pink lady apples
Bananas
Carrots
Pineapple
Avocado - a bag of 5 small ones, might make guacamole
Corn - almost as cheap as Broome
Milk - that was $1/L which is a great price
And 5 potted herbs to start my herb garden - Mint, flat leaf parsley, coriander and what I think are sage and majoram
Now all I need is some mushrooms.
Let the good food roll!

Date: 2006-02-20 01:19 pm (UTC)I so need to restock so much stuff - we've been living off the stuff we've had but it's rapidly depleting. My cupboard staples are potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, lettuce, green leafy something & frozen corn & peas (seeing as corn on the cob is off limits still).

Date: 2006-02-20 01:20 pm (UTC)In a few weeks when the supplies run low again, a bunch of us might organise a big outing to Rockingham then to Galati's. I'll let you know if/when that happens.
