I guess I lied.

Hey, this isn't so bad.

Ah, now I remember why I said that.

Aww crap.

Of course, I made it across and back again. Currently starting to upload lots of Broome pics so expect more. I promise they will be smaller/cut in the future. This sequence is too damn good to cut though.

Hhahah my intrepid traveler friend...gah!!
Man, you so have to take us birding or something using our scope - we can see the ships in good detail at Freo from Floreat on a hazy day.

Scooope... *covets*

I have seen the scope I want, now I just need to save the money for it.

Alfred Cove is an excellent spot to use a scope, lots of waders and crakes and things around the place, but too far to see clearly with binoculars.

That saving the money for the optics thing is a trick & a half. Thankfully we've got the 2 main things now (being the scope & the camera) so now it's all accessories (which are still bloody expensive)

Out in the mud I'd wear neoprene diving boots. They were perfect. They fit me so tightly that there was no way they were coming off.

If I'd stayed in one spot I would have continued sinking there. Most of the mud I walked in you'd sink to ankle or half calf deep then it'd be solid underneath, so you'd get your footing and take the next step. This mud here you couldn't do that, there was no firm footing at any practical depth so you just had to keep moving, the faster you can move, the less you sink.

The mud out there is beautiful. Fine and grey and clean. It does have that sulphur smell about due to the anaerobic bacteria but you get used to it quickly. After a while I'd tend to sit on it while mud sampling, VERY comfortable. I was even tempted to roll in it! Some people pay hundreds of dollars to be plastered in mud like this.

Ahh that looks like some messy fun :) Reminds me of the last time we went out trying to find bald eagles, roflmao. No eagles, but lots of mud.
