Well, that kinda sucks

Matt dropped me in town early because he started work earlier than me. I killed the time by wandering around Queens Park then made it all the way to Herrison Island - I'd never been there before. Saw quite a few birdies including a common sandpiper.

Then I made my way back to the WACA by 20 to 6, when I was meant to start work. I get there, and there is no-one in the muster area. I wait around for about 15 minutes. Not a soul. Hrm. I shall have to call Skilled about this tomorrow, that shift and the pay would have been much appreciated. I was told last nights shift would not be happening but got no news about tonight.

So, seeing as I didn't want to sit around the WACA for 3 hours waiting for Matt to pick me up, I figured I'd get home via train and bus. I go to the train station and ask at info the best way to get to near my place. Seems a train to Bassendeen then the 62 to Amazon Drv is the way to go, no worries. I get to Bassendean and wait for my bus, which by the timetable was meant to come by at 7:05. 7:05 comes and goes, no bus. I check the timetable. Ah, the 47 arrives then, there are no more 62s tonight and the 47 goes nowhere near where I need to be. I don't mind walking a bit sure, but I don't really like doing it at night.

So I ended up calling Gill. She was out but luckily nearby so she came and picked me up and dropped me home. Useful living near my brother and sister-in-law. :)

So really, the most annoying thing is missing out on that pay. Gah.

you know if they didn't tell you that the shift was cancelled they should pay you for at least 3 hours since you turned up for the shift.

Skilled do that alot...they've done it to me a few times...and they won't pay the minimum 3 hours coz they usually make it out to be your responsibilty which is stupid
