gemfyre: (Boobtits)
[personal profile] gemfyre
[20:09] Gemfyre> desirable - understanding of current environmental issues
[20:09] Gemfyre> well DUH!
[20:10] metaphyzica> environmental understand and control is a necessary role for all human beings on the earth
[20:10] metaphyzica> the world is falling into peril
[20:10] metaphyzica> save the whales
[20:11] Gemfyre> land rights for gay whales!
[20:11] metaphyzica> lol
[20:11] metaphyzica> and dolphins...they too have their place in gay society
[20:11] metaphyzica> but im a pro-gay supporter
[20:11] metaphyzica> so i should not joke
[20:12] Gemfyre> well dolphins are technically whales anyway
[20:12] * Speedy has quit IRC (Exit: )
[20:12] Gemfyre> and dolphins appreciate the joy of sex with both genders
[20:12] Gemfyre> as do bonobos
[20:12] metaphyzica> dolphins r awesome
[20:12] * Gemfyre goes back to working on her application
[20:12] metaphyzica> whats a bonobo
[20:14] Gemfyre> some say it's a subspecies of chimpanzee, others call it a full species
[20:14] Gemfyre> homo sapiens closest relative
[20:14] |Jade|> also called pygmy chimpanzee
[20:14] Gemfyre> Google it, fascinating critters
[20:14] Gemfyre> yes, that's them
[20:14] Gemfyre> very horny lil' critters
[20:15] metaphyzica> do u believe in evolution or intelligent design
[20:15] metaphyzica> they must be related to humans then
[20:15] Gemfyre> true advocates of "Make love not war"

[20:15] * Gemfyre believes in both :p
[20:16] metaphyzica> true...they must go hand in hand, but intelligent design is considered by most scientists today the more likely
[20:16] metaphyzica> the next step is to understand wwho or what the designer was
[20:17] Gemfyre> really?
[20:17] metaphyzica> indeedy
[20:18] metaphyzica> evolution is getting thrown out of schools all over the world and replaced by intelligent design
[20:18] Gemfyre> http://www.fred.net/tds/noodles/noodle.html
[20:18] Gemfyre> that's because George Bush thinks he is God
[20:18] Gemfyre> not because scientists believe in Intelligent Design
[20:18] Gemfyre> it's not a science anyway
[20:18] Gemfyre> beliefs and science are two totally different fields
[20:19] Gemfyre> science isn't about believing - it's about hypotheses, proving them, and creation of theory and fact
[20:19] Gemfyre> belief is something more personal, subjective and unprovable
[20:21] metaphyzica> but quantum physics is close to proving the string theory and evidence on the mind is also starting to see signs of intelligent design
[20:21] metaphyzica> it has nothing to do with bush
[20:22] metaphyzica> and everything that can be though, theorised or even contemplated still exists somewhere in infinity, its just a matter of discovering where they r and how to get in touch with that side of science or rather
[20:22] Gemfyre> ah multiverse theory!
[20:22] metaphyzica> the truth is we were created, whether in a labratory by an alien species or by some force yet unknown to man
[20:22] Gemfyre> \o/
[20:22] * Wizzard streaks
[20:23] Gemfyre> way to go for a non sequitor!
[20:23] metaphyzica> evolution is being disproven because there is no proof or reasoning behind us evolving from a monkey
[20:23] Gemfyre> yes there is
[20:23] metaphyzica> and after the great flood, which has been written about in cultures all over the world and through history, where did all these species go
[20:24] metaphyzica> they would have died out, unless 90% of them learnt to swim
[20:24] Gemfyre> ah, and one of the theories is that humans did learn to swim ;)
[20:24] metaphyzica> obviously something after the flood reimplanted us back on earth
[20:24] Gemfyre> but that's just one theory
[20:24] Gemfyre> but the flood, it's not known WHAT that was
[20:24] metaphyzica> and all the animals
[20:24] Gemfyre> some think it may have been the filling of the medditeranean sea
[20:24] metaphyzica> but all cultures speak of the flood that covered the land
[20:24] metaphyzica> there is always fact behind myth
[20:25] Gemfyre> most of the time yes
[20:25] Gemfyre> and there have been genetic bottlenecks in many species, including humans
[20:25] metaphyzica> how do u believe humans came to exist then?
[20:25] Gemfyre> there was the last ice age
[20:25] Gemfyre> I like the idea that aliens mated with monkeys
[20:26] metaphyzica> it is also proven is science just recently that mutations can in no way cause a new species, because of all the tests done, not one of the mutants survived long, and if they did, theur offspring didnt or were normal like the other normal ones of the species
[20:26] metaphyzica> what if the aliens made the monkeys
[20:26] Gemfyre> I do now know how a species with abstract thought and the ability to so thoroughly destroy it's resources came into being
[20:26] metaphyzica> and never mated us with them
[20:26] Gemfyre> do not know
[20:26] Gemfyre> ah, you confuse with mutation with variation
[20:26] metaphyzica> never mated with them i mean
[20:27] Gemfyre> speciation is a very slow, gradual thing, not just suddenly one species becomes another
[20:27] metaphyzica> i understand that theory, and im sure it does have relevance, im not a total supporter of creation
[20:28] Gemfyre> 2 populations become separated, they are subjected to differing environmental pressures, the ones possessing the genetic makeup to deal with it best survive
[20:28] Gemfyre> it's not about mutation, it's about the millions of gene combinations that can happen
[20:29] Gemfyre> every time offspring is conceived, it's a genetic roll of the dice to see how the features mix
[20:29] metaphyzica> true
[20:29] metaphyzica> i agree with that

[20:29] Gemfyre> shit why couldn't I write essays like this?
