God BJ, how many times will it take for you to learn? Never get your hopes up because it feels fucking awful when they’re torn down.

I have so had enough of this damn job. I want a little freedom again.

My plan for tonight involved.

- Being dropped off around 6:30pm in Broome.
- Putting lasagne on for dinner.
- Ringing Matt from town before mum & dad came home.
- Microwaving a cheddar kransky to eat while I waited.
- Having a hot shower
- Showing mum & dad cannon netting photos
- Sleeping in a comfy bed.
- Maybe even watching a little TV.

Instead I get
- stuck here at the Obs.
- Crap for dinner
- Cold shower
- Shitted off
- No decent sleep in tomorrow
- Less time in town to chill out in comfort
- Less time with my parents while they’re up here.

After so many alternatives were organised so I could get into town, they’ve all fallen through.

I hate it up here. I wanna go home.

This is the first time it’s got to me so much I’m almost in tears.

A bit later
Yeah, I was shat. I've since got in contact with mum and they'll pick me up tonight. Not what I'd planned but better than what things looked like.

Man, I was ready to just disappear and sleep on the beach. I used to act like that at parties sometimes, if I got so shat I'd just sneak somewhere secluded and ponder how long it would take for someone to worry about me.

too long :(
this equates to around 4 months.

All my advice is selfish as I want you to come back here now :)

also, if it is really that bad, is it worth the experience that you are getting? Is not seeing everyone for another 4 months worth it?

And it usually didn't take me long to worry about where you were or what you were up to, but it would take alot longer before i was worried enough to come find you. :(

Even though it's kinda sucky for both of us I think it is worth it. Hopefully I'll get a nice bonus at the end and it will look awesome on the resume and I can just say I did it.

As for my reason for taking the job, well, it took me about 3 months to figure out what I need to figure out. Pity there's 4 and a bit months of longing left to go. But absence makes the heart grow fonder they say. *mwah* Love you heaps.

My first and second names are Belinda Jayne, so I've been BJ for many years.

And your icon disturbs me...

So, I'm from Broome (as you know) but I still can't figure out where exactly you are? I'm guessing it's some sort of bird/nature observatory but where is it? How far out of town? Past 1 mile, coconut wells? Just wondering is all...

Cheer up chicken!!

Broome Bird Observatory.

Head down Crab Creek Road for about 15km until you reach the big blue sign that says "Broome Bird Observatory". :)
