What a pity it had to end

gemfyreThis morning wasn't so good. Before I headed out I had to change the tyre on the bus. Problem being that I learned how to change a tyre on a little Daewoo with a good jack, firm surface and specific little bits to stick the jack under. What I had was a bus, a dirt surface, a couple of crappy bottle jacks and nowhere secure for the jack to press against. Eventually it was done however and I headed into town to visit Uncle Stan and Auntie Yvonne. Who I hadn't seen in many, many years.
What would they be like now?
Would I be bored out of my brain?
Would they think I was an interloper of some sort?
Not a worry. They barely seem to have changed in the 10+ years since I've seen them. And I spent a very pleasant afternoon taking a swim at Town Beach then spending hours just sitting on the grass at the front of Roebuck Bay Caravan Park watching the tide recede and chatting. The weather was darn perfect as well. The original plan was to return to the BBO for 6:30 to watch Chris and Ady's presentation on their trip to China but it was too damn nice where I was. At dusk we went to the Stairway Markets and got dinner. Then I got to watch my first television for 3.5 months.
At the markets there were a couple of fireys that were very different from the guys down in Perth. This one girl had a pair of poi, and during her performance she shortened the chains then let them out again and also threw the poi. Very fancy. Another guy had a firestick with chains on the end with the wicks on the end of that. Very funky stuff.
Alas, the day is now over and work begins again. But first, sleep.
