I've come the conclusion that I'm more a muse than I ever was an actual writer. I have loads of ideas, gists, snippets etc in my head but fleshing it all out and creating a cohesive story happens once in a blue moon - and then it's just a short story, usually written under duress.

I'd really like to see some of these ideas fleshed out however. I'm considering occaisionally posting ideas and letting people flesh them out as they see fit - either chapters or even a whole story. I'd still own the idea (I was about to say original idea but some of them have the potential to horridly corny and cliched - some writers however could turn them around), and whoever wrote a fleshed out part would own that - I'd just want to see the fleshed out bit, I'd LOVE to see my ideas turn into complete stories.

If I did this the ideas may include...

- A title
- Some characters, with backgrounds if you're lucky
- A basic storyline
- A vibe or gist to the story
- A few events that I'd like to see happen
- A few scenes that I've written myself

Would anyone be interested in taking on these ideas and turning them into something more? This is on my mind now I'm writing it but I'll be gone for 9 months and probably won't have much access to the world of online, so the templates wouldn't be posted until I get back in October probably. But I figure I could post the ideas here in my journal or start a community for those interested. Whatever, give a hoy if you think it could be an idea. :)

My main problem is lack of ideas! I always want to write, I love writing, but have no ideas at all :P So I'd love to help out ;) Sounds like a great idea.

I'm a muse to. I can write but not as fantastic as my husband. But I have these ideas and dreams that inspire him to pick up and write the story.

It depends on your ideas ;)

I'm like that too, actually, but I do think it's a bit of laziness and short attention span too. None of my original grand epics from high school were ever finished. (Remember Cass and Bret? I still write bits of that in my head sometimes, but there are elements of the unrealistic that I can't seem to write out without destroying what I love about them, so I've never made an effort to turn it into a workable original fic.)

This is why I am muchly into fanfiction. The only finished works of mine are fanfiction (Water Rats, actually, and a couple of juvenile-ish Star TRek Voyager fics. You grow out of stuff, I guess.) I still remember how shocked I was when I actually finished my epic ratfic... of course it took me three years, and the fandom had all but died by then. Oh well, I'm still glad I finished it.

I'm into Potterfics now, and I can seriously feel another epic brewing there. It scares me a bit cos I'm so antisocial when I'm writing, I can't explain it. Luke senses it, and I can tell it confuses him... but I can't explain it. Weirdness. Obssessive personality, maybe?

Anyhow, if you post your ideas, I'll develop one if it grabs me. That's a big if though, cos I'm very single-minded... can't seem to like more than one genre at a time for some reason.
