did you see the new movie yet? i've heard that the person who does Christine's part isn't all that great, but they have a good Phantom. idk...i'm still partial to Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford.
this whole movie thing is becoming a real let-down to me. i haven't seen it yet, but an alternate ending? you can't change artwork, the original story is what made it famous in the first place! I saw a version of the play onstage in Milwaukee (the largest city in the state of Wisconsin...i take no offense if you've never heard of it :P) and i loved every minute of it. i'm curious, but i'm debating on whether i actually WANT to see the movie now...or if i'm gonna regret it. btw, have you read the Gaston Laroux version of the book yet? I've read it about 4 times and i adore it, especially the chapter on Apollo's Lyre. oh, and i guess i should've looked at other posts before commenting...my bad. one more question: did you love the movie Labyrinth, the music or David Bowie's illegal pants? or all of it? lol, anyhoo, i have to get back to my college app before i get too distracted. later!
I just fell in love with all of Labyrinth. But it seems that Christine/Erik and Sarah/Jareth have similar relationships.
See the movie. It's different from the stageplay but still great. And EYE-CANDY!!!
I started to read Leroux's book once long ago and gave up because it was half in French. I might have to track it down and try to read it again though.

now that you mention it, i see it too. I guess i will see the movie...I was looking forward to it for so long, and besides, I can't say anything bad about a movie i haven't even seen yet.
yeah, i read the book about 4 times, but, it was the literal translation of the french book. I don't know how much i may have missed. i'd love to find an actual translation from the french book.
