ding ding ding ding

My car makes a ding ding sound when the driver isn't wearing a seatbelt and the engine is on (5 beeps then it shuts up) or a constant dinging when the lights are on and the engine is off (a slight pain the ass when you have the lights left on for a reason but good for reminding me not to leave my lights on, which I did a few times before I got this car).

Yesterday it started dinging randomly, moreso it seemed when turning corners. It did it again today, but went off even more often (resulting in me glaring at the dash and yelling at it to shut up).

On the way home just then it started dinging then something fell on my feet from under the dash. Then it didn't make ANY sound ever. I guess the little box that fell off needs to be re-attatched. I assume it will be a simple job but I'll wait for daylight.

I just found the whole thing amusing.

Hehehe, our mini-van used to ding for no reason too. We had it into the shop several times and no one could figure out what was wrong with it. Somebody suggested just disconnecting the wires to make it stop, but however the van was wired, that was going to turn off one of the signaling lights or something...I don't remember what we ended up doing, but it's ding-free now :)

It was kind of funny, though...the van would be parked somewhere and someone would come in and be like "did you know your car was dinging..?" hehe. But sometimes the stupid thing would ding all night or something and drain the battery :( that wasn't too cool.

I fixed mine.
Required quite a contortion to get right under the dash to plug it back in but it worked.

It's kinda flimsy, no wonder it fell off.

Our car makes a sickening grind when we brake. We've had everything checked and we have no idea what the hell it is making the noise!
You know the sound when someone grinds there teeth?> thats the sound our car makes, to make it worse, Isabella has started to grind her teeth so its constantly making me want to rip my hair out!

i hate cars that ding.
i had a little mazda 323 jap import that had a thing that beeped if you went more than 100kms/hr. Was good for the freeway, but when I went down south i spent hours trying to find it so I could disconnect it. I ended up just turning the stereo up, as it drowned out the beep at 110km/hr along with the ambient noise of an old car going fast.

I like my dings. I used to leave the lights on too often in my old car that didn't ding.
