28s are technically "Port Lincoln Ringnecks" but there are 4 subspecies of them and the W.A. ones will always be 28s to me. They're so much nicer than rainbow lorikeets.
Plus they swoop. Actually - all birds like to swoop me for some reason. The lady out at FRF said that it's probably my earrings that they're going after. It was so scary on my first day - going into a cage with 20 hungry magpies & my history of swoopage. I ignore it now, usually I can hear it coming although being swooped by an owl is surreal. They're so stealthy!
