I thought it might happen and it did.  In the 3cm of water left a bunch of sea monkeys hatched and are now swimming around with gusto.

Only thing I can think of to save them is to buy another packet of sachets tomorrow and pour them into a jar breifly while I refill the container and treat a new batch of water, then put them back in somehow.  I'm not sure how I'll do this without buggering up the chemical concentration in the water too much.

*ponders*

I think I should feed them a bit tomorrow because it's been a week, but they surely don't have enough room to grow in there.

I thought I read somewhere that just pouring in 8+ hours old water will be good enough since all of the salt is still in there?

Thing is all of the salt isn't in there because a lot spilled and the salt went with it.

When the water level drops from evaporation you can just top it up because only the water evaporates, all the salt is still in there.

So if I just topped this up with distilled water (which I have a big bottle of) it would severely dilute the salt concentration.
