I decided to take a walk to Spotlight and W.A. Salvage today to buy some beads. I also figured it would make a good opportunity to wear in my new Docs.

A little down the road they were kinda painful but I was like "They'll give. Docs are the most comfortable shoes in the world." I honestly can't remember the purple pair ever being painful. By the time I got to Spotlight I was walking weirdly because my heels hurt so much. Once I'd done my shopping at W.A. Salvage I took them off and walked home in my socks.

I have massive blisters on my heels from where the boots rubbed and smaller blisters on the balls of my feet from walking home in socks. Docs ARE NOT meant to be that downright painful. No shoes should give you blisters like that even if they do need to be "worn in".

I took them back to the store and got the size 8. It was hard to tell how they felt because my feet were injured and painful if I wore any shoes. But my old ones were 8s, I'm sure these'll do me a lot better.

The woman there managed to flog me some Dubbin polish as well. I just polished them. Now they have this lemony/waxy scent as well as the leather and man it's nice smell! And God, I can almost see my face in them now!!

I have a problem with the hard leather Docs. For some reason they just won't give in no matter how long you wear them. Unfortunately most of them come in hard leather. My green pair is soft leather, which is why I like them better than any of my others. The soft leather gives more and actually forms to your foot unlike the hard leather.

I've still never had a problem with blisters and/or myfeet hurting so much that I had to take the shoes off. I hope it was just too small a size, otherwise it would seem like they are not being made like they once were.

I adore them too.

I live(ed) in my purple pair. Even slept in them sometimes.

actually docs are often pretty bad for the first few wears, but then my dad has those shoe tree thingies... I gave them back to him eventually after getting my first pair of docs...

I just don't recall my purple ones ever being uncomfortable.

Definetly not THAT uncomfortable.

I worked as a waitress and broke in my first pair... by the end of the shift (about 6-8 hours) I was almost in tears and I kicked my docs off at the end of the night when we were setting up for the next days functon (high classed luncheon). could have been and OH&S issue but I needed to have those docs off!

They'll learn to like you; don't worry. And purple Docs are dead sexy. A former roommate of mine has three different pairs of purple Docs :)
