Apparently Layne Stayley also finally died on this day (everyone knew it would happen eventually, it was just a question of when).

I much prefferred Layne's voice and lyrics to Kurt's.

It was pretty sad how they found him too. He died from an overdose and had been in his apartment for a few weeks before they realized he was dead. Why is it always the talented ones that end up dead?

It was just inevitable that Layne would die that way eventually.

I remember a few years earlier rumours went around that he'd died when he hadn't.

He just couldn't overcome his addiction and it eventually got the better of him.
