I live in a rubbish tip...
Apr. 2nd, 2004 04:52 pm*ponders when the bin will be emptied (into the main complex bin, not the trolley out the back) and the dishes done, or if she'll end up having to do it again*
I really should start charging for my services.
My big jewellery kit arrived!! *squee*
Must inventory it tomorrow, I seem to only have gold eye pins when I was meant to get some silver ones too.
Then I can waste all my time making jewellery.

Date: 2004-04-02 02:40 am (UTC)get a whiteboard, and make up a roster, then everyone can see whose turn it is to do stuff. Guess whose job it is here to keep track of the dishes roster? And collect shares of bills... I reckon the choice is basically to do it one's self, or be the walking, nagging file-o-fax on whose turn it is to do what. (My turn on he dishes... must get that out of the way soon!)
coming to karaoke tonight, btw. yippee!

Date: 2004-04-02 02:59 am (UTC)Problem with a roster - if it's not my turn it will probably sit there not done until it is my turn again.
Apparently 3 days dishes is "not much". Sheesh, normal people wash the dishes every day if not twice a day.
"But I have uni work to do!" *whinge*
The people that do it twice a day WORK every weekday!

Date: 2004-04-02 03:14 am (UTC)Ahh.. that's when you leave it til it's done. We do the dishes roster here, but it stays "your turn" unitl they're done. So if I don't do the dishes tonight, I will have twice as many to do tomrrow. Luke and Travis sometimes leave the dishes until everything is dirty, and that shits me--but if I do it myself, they'll just let me and say "cool, don't have to do it!".
bah. my keyboard batteries seem to be dying--I have to type everything twice and so have forgotten my point.
Anyhow, let them leave the dishes 3 days... *then* start nagging. They'll soon learn that if they don't let it pile to the rooftops, it won't take such a huge chunk of time.
*buggers off to do the dishes quick-smart*

Date: 2004-04-02 03:21 am (UTC)We have completely different perceptions of mess and dirt.
Problem is if I leave it I soon run out of dishes. It becomes my problem. }:-\

Date: 2004-04-02 10:23 pm (UTC)This is complete and utter libel! It is not my job to foster your false expectations that I'll automatically do household tasks out of perceived duty and obligation for things to be running at your specifications. If you want something done and I'm not doing it because I don't believe that it needs to be done yet then you can ask! Don't just go around saying "I'm not going to ask because I shouldn't have to." just so you can go around feeling superior due to the fact that I'm 'lazy' and you have higher standards than me. If I hear any more of this sort of erroneous reasoning then I'll quite rightfully get upset.
You never know asking might be a lot more pleasant for some of your housemates rather that them finding out about this stuff when yout explode into complaints and bitching. You shouldn't have to ask, but bitching is okay? Yeah, right...
I'm sorry if my standards aren't up to yours, but they're my standards and I have a right to them.
