gemfyreUgh, I'm still annoyed. I don't want to be, I hate being like this but SHIT!! Matt needs to learn some bloody respect and manners.
Matt, who says we take his car to karaoke, then proceeds to get drunk on red wine (which he can't afford and which he always goes too far with - he does with any alcohol a lot of the time, ever hear of moderation? It stops you and other people getting really pissed off.) He just expects I will drive him and Greg home in his car which I have never driven before. He doesn't ASK me before he decides to get pissed off his nut if I'd mind driving and even if he did and I said no he probably would have ignored it and proceeded to get drunk anyway (and Christ he acts like a fool when he's drunk). I told him it was double demerit weekend. I told him to take it easy. "No, I'm alright!" ("I'm just acting like a complete dickhead to whom alcohol is the most important thing in the world.") I was fucking fuming, after failing to take the glass away from him because he was oh so protective I just whacked it and spilled red wine all over him. About now I was just shaking with anger. He wants to act like a dickhead he can look like one too. Some people asked about it, I told them what the situation was. Most agreed that he was being a fool and I shouldn't have to deal with that kind of shit.
Now, usually I would have relented and driven, or worse let him drive. But I am fucking sick of his irresponsible behaviour. I got a lift home with Terry and Karen (thanks guys) and so did Greg. I'm sick of risking my life for his stupidity.
Unfortunately he drove home by himself, drunk AND pissed off. Sure he insists that "he's okay to drive" but I'm sure cops on a double demerit weekend or the car or lightpole he might have hit wouldn't be so sure. I sure as hell don't want him to be fined, get a criminal record or end up dead. But he doesn't seem to give a shit if any of the above to happen to him or anyone else. I am just sick and tired and this bullshit and the fact that when I explain to him how much of an idiot he was he either denies or goes "Okay, yeah whatever!" and just does it again later.
I don't mind him drinking. Many people drink for pleasure (I don't see where the fun is but that's just me, I don't claim to be perfectly normal myself). But he just takes it too far a lot of the time. And only seems to focus on those times when he's drunk too much and I've gotten pissed off at him. He doesn't see all those times where he just drank a little and I was fine with it.
Grrr! I just wanna beat the moron about the head and knock some sense into him!

Date: 2004-02-28 04:40 am (UTC)I can see why u are pissed off.....some men think they are "all that" when they are drinking and dont look at the big picture. (not all men......sorry for the generalisation).
I do believe though, that maybe this should have been bought to matt's attention before it appeared on live journal when he was sober.....i can just imagine his anger when he reads this mate.....
Hope that you find some solution to the problem - maybe u drive or u guys all fork out to take a taxi or get friends to drive when u go out so that this situation doesnt happen again
I really wish i could go to karaoke and watch again.....i dont have the guts to get up and sing anymore.....id send them all our of the bar with my voice i think!

I know of too many people who have died because of drink driving and though I have not lost any of my friends, when you are frineds with a person whos best freind got killed by a drunk driver who was driving down the road and hit two kids (one was my frineds freind and the other his cousin, the cousin only had his legs broken and watched the other kid die), your opinion of drink driving changes dramatically.
Matt should not have been drinking, but I know how hard it is to tell mat what to do and what not to do. I know also that he offered to go halves in a bottle to kitty, it was his suggestion to get drunk.
matt has to learn to respect himself, then he can learn to respect other.
