Now I'm pissed
Jan. 21st, 2004 05:51 amOutlook Express doesn't want to work now. I'll open it, and more e-mails are coming in, but the view window never shows up and I just get a "not responding" error.
Anyone have any ideas what I should do (the deleted items folder is stupidly huge due to all the spam and doesn't seem to have purged, I think this may be part of the problem).
Please give me useful advice, telling me to install Linux will not help me!

What I'd do is let it download some, but hit the "cancel" button before it has a chance to freeze on you. It should say "finishing current message" and then it'll delete the ones you've successfully downloaded from the server. Do that a few times to clear the backlog--you probably have a big attachment or something holding everything up.

Date: 2004-01-21 12:47 am (UTC)both the last suggestions are useful, try them. other than that i recommend Mozilla (if it will run on your computer, it has been known to be a resource hog) or Opera for all your browsing an email needs. both are easy enough to set up the email side of things (follow the prompts) and theyre a fair bit more reliable than M$ products.

Date: 2004-01-21 11:28 am (UTC)One advantage is that Eudora stores mail in a vaguely standard mail folder format that should make transporting your mail easier...
