This was meant to be posted at 9am this morning!

I have a computer now, and it's online. Yay!

Still needs soundcard/speakers and lots of stuff installed, but the basics are here. I have obligatory stuffed toys on my monitor. :)

The monitor is so freaking huge lengthwise that it takes up almost half the table. Stupid old tube monitors, but at the moment it's all I can afford.

Still need to get e-mail sorted but I will call iinet about that later today. Also need to grab my RAM and the MP3 drive from the computer at Greenmount.

I'm gonna go for a stroll around Lake Monger today methinks. I can birdwatch!! I can see myself becoming such a culture whore living here. The museum and city is a short train trip away. The zoo is easy to get to by public transport or car (which reminds me I'll probably be going this week or next for those who want to join me). Leederville is just down the road. And the beach is only about 10 minutes away. It's all good.

Pity my room is small and I can't fit all my stuff in it. I think I'll get a large piece of metal and paint it some pastel colour and hang it so I have somewhere to store '03 ponies so they don't take up table space.

I'm feeling very poor right now. I need to pay another lot of rent before Centerstink pays me again. They bloody well better pay me properly and give me my back pay because I badly need it!! I got some letter yesterday saying they need tax info from my parents. a) I thought they already had that because my parents keep bitching about having to hand it in to figure out a payment for dad. b) I am away from home now, I'm not judged on my parents income I thought. c) The bloody woman at Centerlink said everything was fine and my correct pay would go in next pay. So it better, or I will be mighty pissed (and penniless, wow, Centerlink has already shoved me close to starvation, man they are experts at that).

Hrmmm, and now Semagic doesn't want to post this. Not sure if that's a problem at this end or LJ's end. I can read LJ okay...
I will post this via the web.

*a few minutes later* Oookay, it seems it IS a problem with LJ because the online update won't work either. So I'll post this later when it's working.

Nancy here is another icon I think you'll like - http://www.livejournal.com/community/kittypix/2578572.html?#cutid1

*even later* Apparently it's probably a network problem. I need to get a better network card or change some settings.

I wish the default for computers was "make everything work" and then you turned stuff off if you want to. Rather than "some things work and some don't and you have to guess what to change to get it to work." *bangs head on table*

Actually, you are. Unless you are independent, you still get assesed on your parents income.

Living away from home just increases the amount you can get paid, and allows you to get rent assitance.

Try there. Tho being a free pics host it's likely to be down 99% of the time anyway...

You can get a new soundcard for $30, with a one year warranty. It's worth considering if you can't obtain one from someone.

the whole centrelink criteria stuff sucks. You're not considered independent until you're 25, which is pathetic as we're considered adults once we turn 18 and we can do everything else, yet, we can't get our own 'independence' cause centrelink reckons we still live off mummy and daddy although most of no longer live at home! When i first moved to Whyalla, my payments were determined from what my parents earned, and then luckily i had earned enough a few mths later from working for 18 mths after i left school and i got my own independency! Yay!

I'm sure they screw up stuff everytime you put a new form in, i put in a form 2 weeks ago to say that i was continuing studying next yr and would still need Youth Allowance, and i found out yesterday the stupid woman didn't actually put it thru and they put me onto the Newstart Allowance instead. GRRRRRR!!!! They better bloody fix it up or i will not be impressed.
