All my friends are gettin' marrrriiieeed
Nov. 30th, 2003 10:25 amMery and Shig got married yesterday.
Man it was a pretty much perfect fairytale wedding. Out in the bush, unconventional, nothing about religion but lots about love and living together and supporting each other and sharing experiences and improving as individuals. It gave back a bit of my faith that that kind of thing really can happen.
The reception was at Point Walter Cafe. That area is gorgeous around sunset and the nibblys were rather fancy. I got to try oysters on the half shell!! And now I know that I definetly prefer them cooked. I have texture issues with raw ones. I also ate this nice looking lavash wrap thing... I took one bite then made a mad dash to the garden to spit it out then to the bar to get a glass of water. Bloody thing had chilli in it!!
Got a bit depressed seeing all the other couples dancing and stuff while Matt had gone off to play cards. I know his knees hurt and stuff but still. He just nicked off and didn't even acknowledge me. *sigh* You get that.
Overall it was very nice. I wish Shig and Mery the best life together. They look like they've got off to a great start. :)
