Dun dun dun.... Another one rides the bus
Nov. 25th, 2003 06:34 pmTrains were on strike today weren't they?
I ended up waiting for my bus for about half an hour while all the other buses came around about 3 times.
Then the bus was packed tighter than sardines.
Lucky the two people nearest to me smell of chocolate and leather.
Then we took about half an hour just to escape Northbridge.
Eventually around Leederville I got a seat. *plonks self down and wards off fainting*
Of course as I always take the train home I wasn't familiar with the bus route. Realised I should have got off at the Tasman St. stop after we'd passed it because I didn't realise how close it was to Brady street until we GOT to Brady street.
I was like this is cool it stops at the train station anyway.
It stops on the OTHER SIDE of the train station, an area I am not familar with so I had no idea we were near the station because there is a large embankment obscuring the station and the freeway.
Eventually the bus stops and yells it's the end of the line. I ask him where the heck I am and it turns out the "train station" stop was just around the corner. I thought that was the right overpass.
So I walk the rest of the way home.
In other news I did a little city shopping for domestic stuff. The three pack of Christmas pot mits/teatowel was cheaper than a single other potmit so I bought it.
Also bought me some dark Lindor. *grinz*
Spent a while in the museum. I felt so geeky, sitting there reading about the birds and IDing them and listening to the calls and ID'ing THEM. Inspecting the elephant's jaw to see how the huge molars form in the jaw and move forward when the old set wears out. Admiring the BLOODY HUGE stuffed bison. Signing over the stuffed Thylacine and almost extinct deer. Inspecting all the meteor fragments and crystals and cringing at the synthesised roar of the Ceratosaurus.
Now I must unload all those books and the bookcase from the car.
And when Matt gets back from roleplay we shall eat of the Sweet Lips. Mmmmmm.

Date: 2003-11-25 02:46 pm (UTC)It wasn't a massive hassle for me because I wasn't in a tearing hurry or anything. It's just that I live RIGHT NEXT TO the train station so the train is the ideal way to go, not some weird bus.
