We went to beach!! *squees*

We went to Port Beach and at first the water was leg numbingly freezing but I persisted because I needed the salt and eventually got right in. There was lots of seaweed and unknown crap in the water tho so I didn't stay in long, just enough to get my eczma all stingy - which is actually a GOOD thing, it means the salt is doing it's job.

Then we just sunbaked for a while and tormented the seagulls then went home, very pleasant, although of course I now have sand in crevices where I didn't know I had crevices, ah well, that's the price you pay.

The next few days we're going for record breaking weather, I think I will hide in the safety of my home with the air-con on for that or maybe in the spa.

Remind me again WHY am I moving to a house with no air-conditioning at the start of summer?

I love summer... ahhh. If I could afford it I'd have a house in Oz too and move back and forth between Oz and California so I'd have summer year-round. I just did some figuring - November for you is like May for us - and we seem to be pretty similar in terms of time frames: Summer, with 90 degree plus temperatures, usually sets in with a bang by the end of the first week of May.
I just realized I didn't get to either Hermosa Beach OR Santa Monica Beach all last summer. Crazy.
How far do you have to drive to get to the beach? For me, it's an hour, hour and a half, if there's light to no traffic(hah)through LA.

From my parents place it's a bit over an hour to the beach, but I'm about to move in with my b/f which is just 6km from the beach, but it usually turns into a 20 minute drive anyway because it's along a major road.
