National Driving Test is meaningless

Because it wasn't randomly sampled.

TOTALLY biased towards Western Australia due to time zones and road signs.

And going by some of the stupid questions I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd asked something about the law that taxis are still meant to carry a bale of hay in the trunk - tis an old law from the days of horse drawn taxis which just hasn't been removed. That's how silly and irrelevant some of the questions were.

I got 35 out of 55, which was pretty average. Highest in the audience apparently was 48, so yeah.

I'd say that the audience sampling was probably done fairly randomly from the sections that they had. there seemed to be females, asians, and age spread in all the groups (except the P-platers cos age spread there isnt really much)
however the stats from the pretesting, and the on the night results that had got through by the time they showed scores were fairly reliable as an average for the population.
however they wouldnt have been good for WA since they would contain none of us due to it not being shown live here. and the results averages ranged very little anyway so its a good bet the real average isnt far from that.
and the averages seemed to range from about 31-35 which is fairly discraceful, considering the guys that set the questions suggested that 31 and under meant you should go find some public transport, and 32-39 meant you should study the rules a bit more.

I got 37, but it would have been 43 if I'd known the parking rules for unmarked areas. I had all of them on the distance before the correct one!

There was one question that the officials said the law needs to be changed, and that was to do with highbeams and when you can turn them on.

There was a few questions that were more specific for eastern states (like Transit lane zones) but not too many. Enough to account for the WA pretesting being 3-4 below the other states

Also it doesn't say how good a driver you are. Just how well you can recall the road rules while your infront of a telly.
