Anyone know about washing machines?

gemfyreOurs decided to be stupid and STAY stupid after the tub had filled with water - making all the clothes thoroughly soaked in soapy water.
Previously when the power has gone out the washing machine flickers, but it usually works once you press the power button. Today it stopped working altogether.
I hand rinsed the clothes (but they are still a bit soapy) and hung them out still dripping (lucky it's a hot day, they're almost dry already).
But now I have a washing machine with it's tub full of water and no way to drain it. And dammit, I need a washing machine!! I paid $450 for this one not a year ago and already it's borked.
Not impressed.
